Rudi Hakimi

sembilan's Resident Mentor

The role of a Resident Mentor has both been suggested and requested for in the past. However, the role of a sembilan mentor is significant to us - and certainly  one we were not contented to take lightly. As such, it became a long-standing unquenchable thirst that the sembilan family lived with for almost 2 years.

A chance encounter with one Rudi Hakimi soon changed everything.

A graduate in Art and Architectural Design; Rudi has been teaching Art History, Design and Visual Arts for close to a decade now. Not enough can be said about Rudi’s knowledge of Malaysian art and his contribution to the students of Kolej MARA, where Rudi is currently a Visual Arts lecturer for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program.

In his role from Season 5 onwards, Rudi will be a sounding board for our resident artists to explore new messages and methods in their creation during their residency. Further, and typical of his above-and-beyond approach, Rudi has intentions to provide more avenues for our residents to be involved in the greater Seremban community.

Rudi embodies all that one who teaches should be – open, caring, patient, fun and nurturing. We could not be any happier to welcome Rudi Hakimi into our humble family and we are certain that there isn't a more suited person to the role of sembilan's Resident Mentor than Mr. Hakimi!

P.S.: We'd like to dedicate this comic to Rudi and all the great  teachers and mentors out there!
